Odd rolls a six, signaling a life of luxury and privilege, residing in the palace with the Queen herself. Like all citizens of Random, she is visited by the Queen on her twelfth birthday and presented with the honor of rolling the Queen’s black dice, which will dictate where in Random she will live for the rest of her life. But Even has a secret weapon to protect against the dangers of Random – her trusted companion, a living dice named Dicey. Living in the lowest and poorest of Random’s realms, Even has learned that life is tough and she's quick to distrust others.
Despite her namesake, she is anything but even-tempered.
